Husbands Bosworth Primary School

Husbands Bosworth CE Primary School

PSHE

At Husbands Bosworth the Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE) Curriculum in our school is based upon three core themes of the National Curriculum:

Myself and My Relationships

  • Families and people who care for me

  • Caring friendships

  • Respectful relationships

  • Online relationships

Healthy and Safer Lifestyles

  • Health and wellbeing

  • Being safe

  • Sex education

Citizenship

  • Living in the Wider World

Social, Spiritual, Moral and Cultural development (SMSC) is a crucial part of our children's mental and physical wellbeing and learning.  We want them to be confident and resilient as they learn to identify and manage risks, make informed choices and understand what influences their decisions. We want our children to lead safe and healthy lives and celebrate being unique - high self-esteem is important to us. We provide opportunities for them to play a positive role in school and within our community and challenge them to respond to differences of opinions. Everyone is valued.

Our PSHE curriculum follows the Cambridgeshire Primary Personal Development Programme.

Our PSHE curriculum is designed to equip pupils with a sound understanding of risk and provide them with the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to make safe and informed decisions so that they can successfully manage their lives – now and in the future.
