Farm School
At Husbands Bosworth we believe in celebrating that which makes us who, and what, we are. Our village is a farming village, with a history and identity that comes from the land. Our school was originally built to educate the children of farmers, labourers and land workers.
Today, we celebrate this history while embracing the future of farming through our Farm School initiative. We weave farming knowledge into the curriculum, helping to remove misconceptions and showcase how farming is at the forefront of technology, animal welfare, caring for the environment and produces incredible produce.
We visit local farms at least twice a year, we have close links with Mini Meadows, and we have a great relationship with Leicestershire and Rutland Young Farmers, who visit school regularly to give talks and assemblies. We want our children to grow up understanding where their food comes from and the important role farming plays in the health and wealth of the country.
Thank you to our farming neighbours for supporting our initiative and giving up their time for free to us.
